Given the current economic situation, it may not be possible to have 100% occupancy in a mall. In the past, I see many vacant lots to just be covered in a huge white board.
I like what Paradigm mall is doing for vacant lots- where they have injected some creativity by placing boards of scenery, interesting painting and comic strips for lots that have not been rented out.
They have commissioned for Gila Gila comic strips to be included as part of the deco. It really gives a local feel- especially for overseas visitors as it is user friendly for one to take photos.
The comic actually gives a very cheerful feel in the mall. A friend I bought to the mall did not notice the vacant lots in the mall.
I enjoy visiting this mall because the top floor contains a few of my favourite stores- Kaison, Popular, Daiso and Lovely Lace. Also I am able to access to the mall via a less jam residential area and I am usually able to find parking.
It is a real creative touch to have these cheerful comics with the local feel to be decorating the malls. The mall also have other interesting scenery decorating other lots.
